Build the New Hospital

The new hospital will be three times larger than the existing facility while being 30% more energy efficient. Come build a LEED Gold project – the first fully electric hospital in BC!

Another first—this is our industry’s first project to provide an Indigenous Coach & Cultural Advisor on-site to support workers and to guide the BCIB project team.

This hospital is being built with an Alliance project delivery model. The Alliance includes Island Health, EllisDon, Parkin Architects, BC Infrastructure Benefits and Infrastructure BC. Together, we are the Nuts’a’maat Alliance.  

Nutsa’maat is a Hul’qumi’num term which means, “work together with one mind and one heart, with respect.”
